on my iphone, it says ringtones on the stuff you can put on it, and you can obviously buy ringtones sometime soon, but does anybody know what the real deal with that is? it keeps saying things could possibly be aringtone, but i dont know. somebody help me
ITunes Ringtones? Whats the DEAL?
Here's the deal, from what I understand: With iTunes, you can now create a ringtone by selecting a portion of a song that you want to use as your ringtone. You then have to separately pay for that ringtone, even though you already own the song. Only certain people have agreed to let their songs be used that way, so you can't do it with all songs. Steve Jobs talked about it in the keynote, if you want to see for yourself.
Reply:Well, you have to make the 'tones yourself and they're iPhone-only. And it only works with certain songs (iTunes-bought) and they cost an extra 99¢.
Reply:you can wait for Apple's tones or use either of these great methods to add them for free!
