Ringtones on LG Shine?

Hello, I've just recently bought a New LG Shine TU720R Model phone.. I am with Rogers Wireless Provider. My problem is that Rogers somehow has a monopoly on their Ringtones, that you have to download them from there website through your phone, if not.. you cannot make them your Ringtone.





I have tried downloading Ringtones through 3rd Party websites and also, by hooking up my phone directly to my computer. It will transfer fine, However under my settings page, Audio %26amp; Ring Tunes, it will only show me my 10 preset MP3 Ringtones.. However under my Media page Audio %26amp; Ring Tunes it will show my 10 preset Mp3's also the downloaded Mp3's from the net, and computer.. My phone will recognize them, and play them as a media file.. but when I click on the options menu, I've got the 4 lists.. #1 Send Via.. #2 Delete.. #3 rename.. and #4 Information..





However if I download through the Rogers website.. the ringtones will appear in both my settings page, and my media page.. also my menu list changes

i would have to disagree about the monopoly part and rogers,


i was in montreal last month and i downloaded a ringtone that we made from Ventones,


onto his nokia phone from rogers,


it worked without problems, roger phones are GSM , so they are pretty customizable.





Make sure you have internet and it should be fine.


After you make the ringtone with





Ventones,





send yourself the link in a text message, or type it in,


, because you wont receive it unless the phone is from the USA,


and then your phone will download it.





If that doesn't work for you, try buying a cable,


and if that doesn't work, then maybe your LG shine is just completely blocked.





Unlocking the phone has nothing to do with ringtones,


unlocking it means you can take your phone to another country or another GSM provider, and use any SIM card on it

Reply:I just called AT%26amp;T and Lg they told me there is no software available yet to load ringtones onto a LG Shine phone. Apparently LG uses a third party to develope the software and at this point nothing has been released. Seems stupid to me to release a phone without software support, maybe that is why I'm not in the cell phone business. Keep in mind I am a AT%26amp;T customer and not a Rogers AT%26amp;T customer. Anyway, your cell phone provider knows how to make ring tones for your phone, so they have and you can install only theirs at this point, apparently.
